You Dream It. We Design It.
About
Planning a Disney vacation should feel magical — not overwhelming. My Mickey Vacation Travel helps families skip the research rabbit hole and get to the good part: making memories together. Founded in 2008 by Jeff and Karen, we're a Signature Travel Network member agency with 130+ Dream Designers® who plan tens of thousands of vacations every year across Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, Aulani, Universal Orlando, and domestic and European ocean cruising. Whether it's your first trip or your fiftieth, you'll work with an advisor who knows the parks, the ships, and the dining reservations the way only people who live and breathe this stuff can — because we do.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is it cheaper to book a Disney vacation through a travel agent or directly with Disney?
- In nearly all cases, the price is the same. Disney sets the rates, and authorized travel agencies like My Mickey Vacation Travel book at those same published prices — Disney pays our agency a commission directly, so most of our clients pay nothing extra for our services. On occasion, a planning fee may apply, and your advisor will always disclose any fee upfront before you book — never as a surprise. What you get on top of the booking is a dedicated advisor who handles your reservations, monitors for new discounts after you book and re-fares your trip when one applies, helps with dining, park strategy, and Lightning Lane planning, and stays with you from quote to return flight. For most families, the math is simple: same price as booking direct, significantly less work, and fewer missed savings.
- What does a Disney travel advisor actually do?
- A Disney travel advisor (we call ours Dream Designers®) handles every piece of your vacation from start to finish. That includes booking your resort, tickets, and dining reservations; building a personalized day-by-day park plan around your family's pace and priorities; advising on Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass strategy; monitoring for discounts after booking and applying them to your reservation; coordinating airport transportation and any add-ons like Memory Maker or special celebrations; and answering questions before, during, and after your trip. At My Mickey Vacation Travel, you're matched with one advisor who learns your family — not a call center — and that relationship continues across future trips.
- How far in advance should I book a Walt Disney World vacation?
- Most families should book 8–12 months in advance to get the best room availability, secure hard-to-book dining like Cinderella's Royal Table or Space 220, and lock in pricing before Disney's typical annual increases. Deluxe resorts, holiday weeks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, Easter), and Disney Cruise Line sailings often need to be booked even earlier — 12 to 18 months out is common. That said, last-minute trips are absolutely possible, and our advisors regularly help families book with as little as a few weeks' notice. The right timing depends on your dates, resort preference, and dining priorities, which is part of what we help you sort out on a free planning call.
- What's the difference between an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and a regular travel agent?
- Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is a designation Disney awards to travel agencies that have met its specific training, sales volume, and service standards — it's not a title any agency can claim. Authorized agencies and their advisors complete Disney's College of Disney Knowledge training, have direct access to Disney's agent booking systems, and are vetted on customer service performance. My Mickey Vacation Travel has held this designation since our founding in 2008. We're also a member of Signature Travel Network — a luxury travel consortium that gives our advisors access to additional perks, onboard credits, and amenities on Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and partner resort stays that you can't get booking direct.
- Can a travel advisor help with Universal Orlando, Disney Cruise Line, or trips that aren't Disney parks?
- Yes. While we're best known for Walt Disney World and Disneyland, our advisors also plan Universal Orlando vacations (including Epic Universe), Disney Cruise Line sailings, Adventures by Disney guided trips, and Aulani stays in Hawaii. For families who want to combine a theme park trip with a cruise — for example, a Disney World stay followed by a 4-night Disney Cruise from Port Canaveral — that's something we book and coordinate as a single itinerary. If your travel plans go beyond theme parks (international vacations, all-inclusive resorts, river cruises, European tours), our sister agency Dreams Fulfilled Travel handles those, and we can connect you with the right advisor on either team.
